the other kinda SPAM

So trusty Fork and Pen readers, you might notice that comments are gone from my posts. The problem was SPAM - yup the stuff you find in your email box has found its way to comment boards on blogs. Oh well its only a matter of time till SPAMMERS are showing up at your door knocking and asking if you would like to feed natural male enhancers to a donkey that likes to have fun after dark..wink wink. So yeah I shut off comments. But don't stop saying hi to me every once and awhile or telling me about all the fun food stuff you find out about. Email me at joe@forkandpen.com and we'll chat - I might actually see your email now that the SPAM will hopefully stop.

Chocolate show 2004 rolls into town

Sit back...no really sit back and close your eyes. Now think of a world where there is chocolate at ever turn. Dark chocolate, melted white fondue, port with 65% cocoa chips, and yes - oh yes - chocolate waterfalls that you to can have at your bar mitzva or wedding, all there for you to enjoy and what does this fantasy world cost ? Just 20 bucks - I have seen nirvana people and it is the 2004 Chocolate show in new york.

I went last year and had to roll out of the place, this year I did the place a bit faster and had just as a good a time. The booths stop mattering - all that matters is where your next fix will come from. My trusty companion stared glassy eyed at all the possiblities. Finally she stated "I think the chocolate just hit brain." But she wasn't done. A true chocolate lover is never done. It is a long quest to find the perfect taste. And a taste is all that is needed. Your knees weeken at just a bit of some of this stuff.

Get there tomorrow (the last day) if you know whats good for you. I'll post some pics later.

Galbi

Galbi  - Short Rib Beef Marinated in Special Sauce

Read that over one more time - sounds pretty good right - well let me tell you its better then you think. Short ribs are usualy so soft and tasty but those crazy Koreans know something about preparing them. I tried Galbi for the first time at Choga on Bleeker. And it made me smile - ear to ear. Then right back into it till it was done. Sources tell me that Choga does a good version of Galbi but not the best. I am on the hunt.
